Electron Microscopic Studies on the Rat Mesenteric Mast Cells Induced by Demerol Hydrochloride

Abstract

|
The present study was carried out to observe the effects of demerol HC1 on the rat mesenteric mast cells with the electron microscopy. The materials were prepared for electron microscopy by osmium tetroxide fixation and embedding in Epon.
The mast cells did not show the morphological changes induced by demerol HC1 in its forms, but the matrix of some granules appeared higher density than the homogenous type and was observed that three types were mixed in granular substances. Frequently, the outline of the granules in the experimental group treated with the demerol HC1 was not observed clearly.
Consequently, it was suggested that the rat mesenteric mast cell granules were affected by demerol HC1.
